No!

Artist: Big Yawn
Label: Research Records
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 06 March 2020

Melbourne electronic experimental band Big Yawn release their debut album No!, The quartet's live instrumental electronica embraces sonic curious from far-flung corners of the globe. Vintage krautrock, esoteric percussion and experiments in steady dance grooves merge with heavy low end frequencies to tread uncharted territory...

It's quite obvious that Big Yawn have steeped themselves in the entire history of electronic dance music... and all its sub genres in order to create a labour of love to dance aficionados the world over.

No matter what your interest in the genre, there will be at least one moment for you here which will have you feeling all nostalgic. Big Yawn aren't just electronic musical geniuses, they're also curators of huge swathes of the genre - experts in their craft. Normally, this sort of passion can inadvertently transform from a passion into a rather dull experience for everyone else. Thankfully No! isn't just a combination of a lot of influences, but rater a celebration of a scene that is diverse and energetic.
