Disq release their new album, Collector, via Saddle Creek. The release treads the road of gnarled power pop, anxious post-punk, warm psych-folk and hectic, formless, tongue-in-cheek indie rock... A little slice of retro sounding '90s indie rock is how I'd briefly sum up Disq's sound. However, it's more complex and layered than that. From track to track they reinvent themselves, whilst staying true to their sound. Over the course of these 10 tracks (37 min, 40 sec) there's a little something for everyone, but the two main adopters here are likely to be disaffected teens and those that lived though that stage in their development in the '90s. While not original, by a long stretch, there's a warmth, depth and solid tight song writing that makes Disq a band worth following. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
