Belgium hip-hop artist Glints releases his new album via PIAS and as debuts go this is pretty tight. Firstly there's a good mix of styles spread over these 12 songs (41 min, 47 sec) but more interestingly, there are a number of songs that will lodge in your head after the first play through. Tracks like 'Young Wolverine' showcase Glint's sly sense of humour, while 'Minimum Wage' has a political slant, the lyrics highlight his ability to deliver a strong and powerful message. 'Gold Veins' takes its cue from American Western movie scores, whilst 'Lemonade Money' brought to mind Naughty Boy's 'La la la' ft. Sam Smith. If you're a serious follower of hip-hop, then Glints is well worth checking out. Even if you're not normally a fan of the genre, there's enough quality material here that could convert you. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
