Ben Fox's original score for Nose To Tail is released via Plaza Mayor Company Ltd. The movie follows a talented but abrasive chef struggling with his personal demons and the relentless pressures of running a high-end restaurant. Over the course of one frantic day and night, he faces a rash of private trials and professional tribulations in a desperate bid to beat the odds and save the business that forms the very core of his identity...

Nose to Tail is a jazz-inspired score that runs over 10 tracks (18 min, 14 sec) and even if you haven't seen the movie you can visualise the sort of scenes that composer Ben Fox is aiming for. And in many ways it feels a little like a documentary score.

Coming in at under 20 minutes, it's more an EP than a full blown album, but no doubt fans of the movie will relish the opportunity to hear the music on its own merits.

While it wasn't the sort of score I'd want to listen to for pleasure, it's jazz-based style will no doubt ensure that it will have a niche audience outside of those that have seen the movie.
