Polyvinyl Record Co., release Yumi Zouma's new album, Truth or Consequences, an indie pop album which delivers some technically intriguing songs. The album opener, 'Lonely After' is instantly accessible and pretty much sets the scene for the rest of the songs. There's a dreamy, slow laidback approach to delivery on the majority of tracks here. 'My Palms Are Your Reference To Hold To Your Heart', for example feels effortless and chilled. There's just enough echo on the vocals to make it feel like you're waking from a pleasant dream. While this is a refreshingly original album I couldn't help feeling that it was also a little unmemorable. There's nothing here that grabs you and makes you want to relisten to it. This is an album to listen to for a few weeks, possibly months and then never return to. Which is a shame, because there's something here that's instantly likable... just not very memorable.
