John Finbury’s new album Quatro features new jazz music with broad Latin American and Spanish influences .Alternating vocal and instrumental tracks, the LP features Magos Herrera on vocals, Chano Domínguez on piano, John Patitucci on bass, and Antonio Sánchez on drums...

Quatro is designed to be both a celebration of cultural diversity and immigration, and a condemnation of those who seek restriction based upon prejudice. The album opener, 'Llegará El Día' ('The Day Will Come'), is a “Freedom Song” helps to assert the direction of the rest of the album, with influences of Peruvian Festejo and Mexican Huapango.

But if the lyrics (and ultimately the album's personality and heart) are not things you're overly that bothered about, you'll still find yourself swept up in the music. How could you not fall in love with vocalist Magos Herrera's delivery in songs like 'La Madre De Todos Los Errores'? This is a jazz album that is open to all and is even likely to appeal to those that normally are not a fan of the genre.
