Partisan Records release Welcome to Bobby's Motel, a celebration of rhythm and groove, by the band Pottery. Although he occupies a central role within the album, it should be noted that Bobby is not technically a real person, and Bobby’s Motel is not a real place. Beginning as an inside joke between the band members, Bobby and his “motel” have grown into so much more. They’ve become the all-encompassing alt-reality that the band built themselves, for everyone else...

Pottery's debut LP, Welcome to Bobby's Motel, is stylistically interesting as it shifts and changes through the course of its 11 songs (37 min, 42 sec). It opens with a few tracks that wouldn't sound out of place on a Talking Heads album before wandering off and exploring rock styles from a bygone era.

While I found the album to be a lot of fun, I didn't find it to have much substance. There little that drew me back for additional playthroughs. It's light and throwaway but it's unlikely to be one you dig out very often.
