Liela Moss's new album, Who The Power, is released via Bella Union. This, her second solo album, follows 2018’s deeply personal My Name Is Safe in Your Mouth... While I did, on the whole, enjoy this album, I have to admit I found it a little directionless. The songs amble along well enough, it's just that I didn't feel the songs themselves, nor the album in general, had any purpose or drive. In the end it just feels like a collection of similar, yet disconnected songs. This is one that works best when you dip in and out of. Even putting it on random/shuffle doesn't cause any issues - as some albums can. At the end of the day I was left wondering "Why?" What was the point of this release? It felt more like a collection of half thought out random ideas that had been worked up into songs in a hurry. I may sound like I didn't enjoy this... far from it. However, as briefly distracting as this album was, it's unlikely to be one I'll dig out in the future. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
