Plaza Mayor Company presents the official soundtrack album for the drama The Book of Vision. The album contains the music composed and performed by Hanan Townshend with Errichetta Underground and Federico Pascucci. The movie sees a mysterious doctor who unravels the secrets of 18th century physician Dr. Anmuth and his patients through studying his Book of Vision... Hanan Townshend (Strawberry Days, To the Wonder) delivers some memorable and richly layered themes for The Book of Vision. It opens with a quick burst of saxophones on the 'Opening Titles'. It might be short, but it's hauntingly beautiful. As the 22 (55 min, 12 sec) tracks rumble along it soon becomes apparent that this is much more than just your standard score. Having the movie placed in two time periods means that the composer gets to play around a little with styles and themes. There are plenty of haunting, melancholic pieces, like 'Chasing Lovers' (Acts 1-4), 'Elizabeth' 'Believe' (No. 1 & 2), and 'The Child' which give the album more of a classical music feel. This is a richly rewarding score that you'll return to time and time again, Townshend wrings every piece of emotion out of every single note. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
