Tim Bowness is primarily known as vocalist/cowriter with the band no-man, a long-running collaboration with Steven Wilson. In addition to releasing seven studio albums and a documentary DVD with no-man, Tim has worked with popular Italian artist Alice (on her Italian Top 20 album Viaggio In Italia), Mercury Prize nominated Banco De Gaia, Robert Fripp, Peter Hammill, Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera and many others. His most recent work is Late Night Laments (also released as a two-disc special edition with five additional tracks), a collection of lush, atmospheric songs with a wide lyrical scope... I don't know why, and I don't know if anyone will get this too, but I got a distinct Bowie vibe when listening to Tim Bowness's Late Night Laments. Over the course of these 9 songs (38 min, 51 sec) Bowness has a way of working his way under your skin. The tunes are laid back and memorable, his vocals are warm and solid and what we end up with is a very strong and enjoyable album that ages like a fine wine the more you dig it out and play it. It starts well and slowly grows. And then... just as you're getting into the album's stride... it's all over. An rich and enjoyable release that leaves you wanting more. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
