WaterTower Music brings us Ludwig Göransson's score for Tenet. John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle. Armed with only one word - Tenet - and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. Not time travel. Inversion... There is a melancholic beauty to Ludwig Göransson's music for Tenet. This can be witnessed, most notably, in tracks like 'Betrayal'. However, it's not a score that will be enjoyed by everyone. It's an electronic soundtrack that will probably do for the film what Vangelis' music did for Blade Runner - create a soundscape that encapsulates the futuristic time period of the film. And from that point of view this is the perfect score for the film. As a standalone listening experience this will divide soundtrack collectors. But I think it should be viewed in it's cinematic context. There's a lot of originality here. On familiar territory, I couldn't help feeling that 'Freeport' was a nod and a wink to the theme tune to Knight Rider?. In addition 'The Algorithm' has the same style of fragmented, malfunctioning electronic music as Olivier Deriviere's score for the game Remember Me. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
