Maximilien Mathevon delivers a powerful and emotionally driven score for the documentary De Charlie Hebdo au Bataclan. Mainly synth and electronic based, the composer expertly weaves traditional instruments and modern electronically manipulated sounds to create something extremely powerful. Piano and strings help to greatly elevate this up several notches, both emotionally and stylistically. The score contains 23 tracks (1 hr, 17 min, 42 sec) and brought to mind a modern, more classically based, Vangelis score. This soundtrack has it all. Suspense ('Inquietudes'); Beautiful, mellow themes ('Souvenirs De Novembre'); Action ('De Nouveaux Evenements'); and unsettling segments ('Textures 2'). Overall an engaging and memorable soundtrack that works really well outside of the film. There are a few themes that run throughout and a few atmospheric cues, but mainly this is a solid and enjoyable score. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
