WaterTower Music release the soundtrack from the HBO original series The Undoing. The album features Nicole Kidman’s performance of the classic jazz standard 'Dream A Little Dream Of Me' from the show, as well as the original score from composer brothers Evgueni and Sacha Galperine, The series follows Grace and Jonathan Fraser, who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Overnight, a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and her family... Evgueni and Sacha Galperine's score for The Undoing opens with a pretty impressive performance, by Nicole Kidman, of the classic 'Dream a Little Dream of Me.' The soundtrack contains 16 tracks (35 min, 43 sec) and while not a bad score, by any stretch of the imagination, it's also not one that's particularly noteworthy. While there are some interesting and rich themes buried away in tracks like 'Elena Alves' and 'To Clear My Name', on balance it's a little too dry to hold most listener's attention for the duration. Personally, while I appreciate its finer points it's not one I'll be listening to again in the future. This is a score that only really works for the medium it was composed for. It doesn't really stand up on its own merits. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
