Fight to save a doomed deep space colony starship infested with murderous clone printed mutations of the former crew. Gather resources, upgrade your abilities and unlock an arsenal of weaponry on each run as you repeatedly head deeper and deeper into the decks of 'The Persistence' to repair the systems and prevent the ship from being torn apart by a black hole...
The Persistence: Enhanced is an updated version of the Xbox One game The Persistence. I originally played this on the PSVR and playing the game flat isn't quite as engaging as it is in VR. The game challenges you to survive aboard a doomed starship, overrun with horrific and murderous aberrations. Explore, evade and fight your way through the depths to bring the craft home. Designed as a first person shooter. horror adventure game, you'll start in the seemingly empty bowels of your ship. The main quest is to make your way through the ship and repair the engine so that you can travel home. However, it's not quite as easy as it could be. The ships's technology has gone rogue and is creating warped version of the ship's dead crew. These need to be dispatched as you meet them, but that's easier said than done.
If you die, and you will, over and over again, you return to the start of that level. However, all of your weapons are gone and the ship layout is completely different. This helps to keep the tension ramped up (because you never know what's awaiting around the corner). The game is mainly a graphical enhancement for the new Xbox X, and for the price it's worth picking up. If you haven't played it in VR then you'll find this engaging enough, but if you've tried the VR version on other platforms, the flat version feels a little... well... flat. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
