Zoho Music release Yulia Musayelyan's tango based album Oblivion. Born in Moscow, Russia, Yulia began studying music at the age of four. Along the way, she earned many prestigious recognitions as a flautist such as the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts Awards. She later moved to the United States where she is a professor at Berklee College of Music...

It pretty much goes without saying, but you're unlikely to enjoy this album if you're not a fan of the flute and tango music. Yulia Musayelyan is never overbearing on the tracks. Her playing is subtle, measured and wonderfully fluid. It would have been so easy to have reworked each song so that the flute was centre stage, but she is part of the ensemble, which is what makes each song work so well.

If I were being over critical, there is a tendency for some of the pieces to sound a little dated and dare I say twee? And while it's not the style of music I would necessarily listen to, I certainly appreciate the work and dedication that has gone into producing this album.

It's certainly an album you have to be in the right mood for.
