Wewantsounds reissue With Love, the 1978 instrumental cult classic LP by Egyptian guitarist Omar Khorshid. The album features Khorshid's trademark twangy electric guitar sound over arabic melodies enhanced by fascinating fuzzed-up arrangements and early synthesizer sounds... Omar Khorshid's 1978 album With Love is one you'll love or really not get on with. In the modern day it sounds cheesy and incredibly twee. It's the sort of album that students will play for giggles when they get the munchies. Khorshid's masterful playing is not in question here. The choice of tracks, however will certainly not be to everyone's taste - unless you're a huge lover of retro world music. The only track that almost everyone will be familiar with is 'Zorba' - and I challenge you to sit completely still while listening to it. Wewantsounds' series of Arabic music reissues are curated by Lebanese-born Arabic music expert Mario Choueiry from Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. The album has been newly remastered and comes with the original ‘Voice of Lebanon’ LP artwork. Not a release for everyone. 5 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
