Maxïmo Park release Nature Always Wins via Prolifica Inc. The album’s title nods to the famous Nature vs Nurture debate. Discussing whether change is capable under the influence of time, perspective, environment or if we are destined to be bound by our own genetics, it asks, “who are we, who do we want to be, and do we have any control over it?”... Nature Always Wins contains 12 tracks (44 min, 47 sec) of pretty average indie rock music. While never really shining any any one respect, as a whole the album is a fairly upbeat diversion; an album that for a brief period will lift your spirits. Songs like 'Why Must A Building Burn' stand out as singles in their own right, but there was a definite '90s vibe and I couldn't help but be reminded of James every now and then. Tracks like 'I Don't Know What I'm Doing' have a heavier rock side to them, but the majority of the album is comprised of middle of the road soft rock. While well produced and diverse enough to appeal to fans of the genre, I found it instantly forgettable. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
