The original soundtrack to the TV series Primates is released via Silva Screen Records. Filmed over two years in locations around the world, from the snowy Atlas Mountains to the flooded jungles of Sumatra and Brazil, Primates is a 3-episode documentary series created by the BBC Studios Natural History and narrated by Chris Packham. The episodes, 'Secrets of Survival', 'Family Matters' and 'Protecting Primates', follow our closest animal relatives and reveal how much we have in common with them... Composers Adam Lukas and Denise Santos deliver 29 tracks (51 min, 36 sec) for the score for Primates. It won't come as a huge surprise, but quite a few of the themes appear to be designed to accompany scenes that anthropomorphize the show's subjects. So there's a few cutesy, comical themes no doubt composed to show the primates at play. It's not a complaint, rather a reflection on today's cute animals social media culture that also means that the masses are expecting at least a few instances of hilarious animal japes. The score has a strong and memorable main theme and, for the most part, it manages to keep up the quality and momentum throughout the album's duration. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
