Life in Your Glass World

Artist: Citizen
Label: Run For Cover
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 26 March 2021

Citizen, the Toledo, Ohio-based three-piece release their fourth full-length LP, Life In Your Glass World, via Run For Cover. Since forming in 2009, Citizen - vocalist Mat Kerekes, guitarist Nick Hamm, and bassist Eric Hamm - have endlessly pushed themselves with each successive release, actively resisting the comfort zones that often plague bands as they grow...

Citizen have been around long enough to know what they are doing, yet, this their fourth album still feels fresh and energetic. It's certainly not the sound of an outfit simply going through the motions.

This is an album that you'll love from the first play through, and still return to months and years later. It's infectious and memorable. This is an indie rock album that will have you smiling from ear to ear.

Of the 11 tracks (37 min, 35 sec), the opening 'Death Dance Approximately' and closing 'Edge of the World' are probably the most engaging on the album. 'Call Your Bluff' seems to have been written around a similar riff to Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out for a Hero'.

This is an important release for fans of indie rock.
