The all-star collective The Jaded Hearts Club specialise in putting their ragged garage-rock spin on a catalogue of forgotten classics and all-time favourites, as evidenced on their debut album You’ve Always Been Here. Now the band - consisting of Miles Kane (The Last Shadow Puppets), Nic Cester (Jet), Graham Coxon (Blur), Jamie Davis, Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Sean Payne (The Zutons) - release Live At The 100 Club via Helium-3 / Infectious Music / BMG...

Live at the 100 Club is a pretty impressive classic rock'n'roll covers album from The Jaded Hearts Club, which is made up of band members from huge acts including Muse, Blur and The Last Shadow Puppets. Here they unleash 10 (33 min, 14 sec) classic covers with their own punky twist.

By far my biggest complaint is why on earth is this so short? Fine... if you only have a set of 10 songs then that's okay... But most of those songs run for between 2-3 minutes. Couldn't they have added an instrumental break? Lengthwise it's too long for an EP and too short for an LP. But that is my only quibble.

These 10 songs really buzz and it's pretty obvious that this would have been an incredibly recording to have heard live. They pay meticulous attention to detail, paying respect to the original material, yet still managing to make them sound fresh.
