MovieScore Media release Laura Karpman's caper comedy score to Giorgio Serafini's Senior Moment. Starring William Shatner, Christopher Lloyd and Jean Smart, the film follows the trials and tribulations of retired NASA pilot Victor Martin who has just been stripped of his driver's license. Now he must must not only battle with the DMV, but he he is also forced to find new ways to navigate love and life without his beloved vintage Porsche...

Laura Karpman (Paris Can Wait, Why We Hate) delivers a quirky, upbeat score for Senior Moment. However, it won't be to everyone's tastes. While it no doubt adds a fun, comedic atmosphere to the film, listened to in isolation it has a tendency to sound twee and very dated (the "dated" element is probably intended given the plot of the movie).

Discussing the project, Karpman says: "Senior Moment is a delightful film that is both a cool caper and a great love story. At its core, it is a film that, with humour and love, explores the dignity of aging. I had a blast with this project; bringing up my jazz chops, re-mixing & playing with source cues, and writing a love theme based on a Viennese waltz for a couple that was always meant to be!"

While technically I enjoyed this, as it was so different and quirky, it's also sadly not the sort of score that you'll return to very often, if at all. A fun, novel collection of themes that has a very niche appeal.
