WaterTower Music release the soundtrack for the second season of Cinemax’s gritty, action-packed drama Warrior. Set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the late 19th century, the series follows Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who emigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances. After proving his worth as a fighter, Ah Sahm becomes a hatchet man for the Hop Wei, one of Chinatown’s most powerful tongs (Chinese organized crime family). Season two follows rival Chinatown tongs, the Hop Wei and the Long Zii, as they fight for dominance amidst the growing anti-Chinese racism that threatens to destroy them all...

The 27-track (1 hr, 3 min, 13 sec) Warrior: Season 2 soundtrack features music from the show by Reza Safinia and H. Scott Salinas, who previously joined forces on Birth of the Dragon.

The music for the show has a distinct spaghetti western rock vibe. Musically it sets itself apart from a lot of shows by being bold, confident and catchy as hell. The score kicks arse in a similar way to the characters in the show.

Having said that, you'll really need to be a fan of the series to get the best out of the music on offer. After a while its rock western vibe can have a tendency to sound a little samey.

The album closes with three songs: 'R.E.C.' by Smashregz, 'Tierra Prometida (Promised Land)' by Chops feat. Jason Chu, Godilla & Ann One and 'Warrior (A New Legend Begins)' by The Warrior feat. Chops, Jason Chu, Leo Xia & DJ Bonics.
