Label: Full Time Hobby
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 20 August 2021

The Joy Formidable unveil their new album, Into The Blue, via Full Time Hobby. It's released on the same day as the second single from the album, 'Back to Nothing'. The LP follows hot on the heels of 2018's Aaarth...

Into the Blue is another impressive offering from The Joy Formidable, representing a diverse representation of rock music in various styles. From track to track this album never allows you to get comfortable. The band refuse to get stuck in a rut, which would be an easy trap to fall into considering how long they've been around. There's even a folk-rock vibe in 'Somewhere New' which really stands out on the album.

It's interesting to listen to this and then go back and revisit 2009's A Balloon Called Moaning to witness how the band have matured and grown over the years as they carefully honed their craft.

'Back to Nothing' along with their first single from the LP, 'Into the Blue', will be the main draws for fans, but don't write the other material off as filler. Get to know this album over time and you'll soon see how much of a diverse and wonderfully produced album this is.
