Sony Masterworks Broadway releases Annie Live!: Original Soundtrack of the Television Event on NBC featuring the score from the beloved musical as performed by the cast of the NBC’s television event. The soundtrack features vocals by Harry Connick, Jr., Nicole Scherzinger, Tituss Burgess and Megan Hilty, with newcomer Celina Smith in the titular role of Annie and Taraji P. Henson. Whether you saw the NBC broadcast, or are just a musical theatre fan in general, Annie Live! is a recording that you'll get a lot of pleasure from. Of course, the main song that everyone is familiar with, 'Tomorrow' is front and centre with it making an appearance several times throughout the recording.

Other familiar track 'Its the Hard-Knock Life' is wonderfully realised with the chorus of child singers really knocking it out of the park. Other than that there's nothing here that has managed to creep into pop culture as much as 'Tomorrow' and so the majority of tracks will be unfamiliar to those that haven't seen the musical before.

Overall the cast is impressive, as you'd expect, with Harry Connick, Jr. really standing out as the cast's strongest singer.

This is a wonderful musical souvenir of the show and well worth adding to your collection.
