Scalextric release the Delorean from Back to the Future II

Scalextric has for decades released detailed racing slot cars and in recent years has moved into producing movie and film tie-in vehicles. In 2020 they released the Delorean car from the original Back to the Future movie and now they bring us the futuristic version that features in Back to the Future: Part II sans flying capabilities (obviously, as this is a slot car designed for racing).

The attention to detail is impressive. Marty McFly is seated behind the wheel and the car has working headlights and rear lights as well as interior lights in the form of a glowing flux capacitor. Looking the car over, close up, it's impressive how much time and consideration has gone into ensuring that the back of the car incorporates all the Mr Fusion wiring and circuitry and tiny little decal detailing.

The 1:32 scale model comes digital plug ready

The 1:32 scale model comes digital plug ready, which means once you add a digital plug to the underside compartment of the car, you can race against up to five other players on new digital or traditional Scalextric track. This feature allows cars to run on the same track, and switch to the other track to overtake or block opponents.

The car also comes in a hard plastic display case with replacement braid plates stored in the underside. The case is perfect for not only displaying the model when not in use, but also ensures that it won't get damaged and will remain free of dust.
