Batora: Lost Haven is an interplanetary action RPG adventure with a rich, choice-driven story. Avril never thought she’d have to step up and be a hero but after a mysterious and devastating event, her world was flipped upside down. With her homeworld on the brink of destruction, Avril has been gifted extraordinary powers and will have to journey across the universe to uncover ancient secrets and reckon with a series of life-changing decisions...
There are so many action RPG games that finding one with a bit of an edge is always challenging. Thankfully Batora: Lost Haven ticks so many boxes. It has an engaging storyline that keeps you glued to the screen. It has above average graphics. The vocal acting is spot on. There's plenty of comedic moments. But more importantly the game play is intuitive and fun and the RRP is relatively cheap. As you travel through the game you get to explore a range of unique alien planets and discover a galaxy in which morals are blurred and the line between right and wrong is mercilessly thin. As you explore, you’ll need to harness Avril’s unique abilities to perfect different combat styles and defeat deadly foes, solve intricate puzzles, and take on quests from curious alien inhabitants.
Enemies come in numerous shapes and sizes and a coloured ring around them indicates which weapon/power you should be using to defeat them most efficiently. The battle variants include melee sword or ranged weapon. As you progress you'll unlock elements to make your character stronger and add an edge to your weapons. Thankfully these aspects of the game are slowly introduced so that the progress never overwhelms you. And, if you get stuck wondering where you're supposed to go you can push a button and a swarm of winged creatures will fly off for you to follow. Game play is punishing, and you'll be dying quite a lot. Worry not, as the mysterious Batora is there to ensure you're quickly transported back to carry on where you left off. Overall, a fun engaging game that keeps getting better the more time you invest in it. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
