Sony Music Masterworks releases the first volume of music from Horizon Forbidden West, the PlayStation game and highly-anticipated sequel to 2017’s PS4 release Horizon Zero Dawn. The album includes music by a team of composers consisting of Joris De Man, The Flight, Oleksa Lozowchuk and Niels Van Der Leest. This is the first of an planned three-part album release with more than 5 hours of music from the game... Anyone who has played Horizon Forbidden West, or the previous game Horizon Zero Dawn, knows how integral the music is in setting the scene and creating the right atmosphere. The score for Horizon Forbidden West is composed by a number of artists (including Joris De Man, The Flight, Oleksa Lozowchuk and Niels Van Der Leest) yet it all feels like a collaborative effort, as the music sounds like it's come from the same creative mind. The other remarkable thing is that it sounds totally different to other soundtracks. It's really impressive how the Horizon franchise seems to have its own unique sound. The album is split over two discs (39 tracks - 2 hr, 13 min 54 sec) and it's worth noting that there's no dull, filler material here. The music swells and grows as the album progresses, making for a wonderful listening experience. Those that have played the game will relish the opportunity to add this to their music library. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
