Atmospheric and melancholic, Kris Bowers delivers an intriguing 19 track (53 min, 59 sec) score for DMZ. Soundtracks like this, I usually shy away from, but Bowers actually populates it with bitter sweet themes that really tug at the heart strings. I was reminded of the wonderfully moving trailer music for the console game Dead Island on more than a few occasions.

If you normally avoid scores like this then this could be the one that shifts your perspective. It's a well constructed album that feels timeless and packs some seriously impressive themes throughout its running time.
