Silva Screen Records digitally releases the soundtrack to Hotel Portofino, with a jazz-infused score by Stefano Cabrera. This period drama is set in the mid-1920s on the lush shores of the Italian riviera, and centres around a British family looking for a fresh start in Italy. The series depicts the lives of luxury hotel staff and locals in 1920s Italy, when Benito Mussolini's brand of fascism was on the rise... Musically, the score for Hotel Portofino is in a similar vain to Craig Armstrong's work on Love Actually, Trevor Jones's work on Notting Hill as well as many similar quirky British romantic comedies. The album contains 35 tracks (1 hr, 02 min) of light-hearted, busy music that perfectly encapsulates the emotional essences of the show. It's varied enough to hold your attention and warm enough to bring forth an emotional response in the listener. While it works fairly well as a standalone collection of themes, this is one that you'll get more out of if you're familiar with the series. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
