American singer-songwriter Kramies has announced his new self-titled LP. Like a sentimental old scrapbook with tattered pages filled with faded photos, nostalgic old postcards and haphazard handwritten notes, the new record weaves together hazy memories and stirring stories with heart-wrenching precision... There's an air of The Smiths / Morrissey running throughout Kramies self-titled LP, especially in the opener, 'Days of'. It's impressive how diverse the 8 songs are. Each has its own strength and as the album rumbles on you really get a feel for Kramies skills as an art form for constructing engaging, memorable tracks that stay with you. I was also taken by how timeless this collection is. Stretching from the '60s feel of 'Owl and the Crow' to more modern songs like 'Ohio I'll be Fine'. My only real complaint is that it stretches the definition of LP by being 32 mins in length. I could have easily listened to so much more in a similar vein. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
