Plaza Mayor Company Ltd release Fabrizio Mancinelli's original soundtrack for The Land of Dreams. In the movie a young immigrant named Eva, living in New York during the 1920s, dreams of becoming a singer and falls for a pianist with an active imagination... The Land of Dreams is a soundtrack of two halves. Of the 25 tracks (1 hr, 09 min), the first 10 tracks (26 min, 48 sec) are musical numbers from the film, while the remaining 15 tracks (42 min, 12 sec) represent the movie's orchestral score. Depending on your point of view, this is either it's main selling point, or a turn off. Personally I found this to be the perfect mix. All of the musical numbers are strong, memorable and the quality is certainly equal to the sort of songs you'd expect in a critically well received Broadway/West End musical. Likewise, the score is well above par - again, being memorable and thematically interesting. This is one of those rare releases where you can get a huge kick out of the music even if you haven't seen the film, or have any clue what it's about. This is certainly one worth seeking out. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
