Silva Screen Records digitally release Benji Merrison and Will Slater’s soundtrack to the 90-minute feature documentary Missile from the East. The film follows the true story of Ernst Degner, a champion East German motorcycle racer who risked his and his family’s life to defect to West Germany during the Swedish Grand Prix in 1961, taking MZ’s groundbreaking engine technology with him and helping Suzuki win its first Grand Prix Championship... Composers Benji Merrison and Will Slater deliver an intriguing score for the documentary Missile from the East. It opens with synth ostinatos and gradually shifts into mellow soundscapes. The opening bars of 'Change the World' reminded me, for a second, of The Who's 1971 single 'Baba O'Riley', which is better known to people today as the theme to CSI: NY. There's a perfect mix of electronic and instrumental music which beautifully dovetails together to deliver an intriguing soundscape. The closing track 'Degner's World', is a beautifully intricate solo piano piece that rounds the score of perfectly. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
