A planet that used to be a place of undisturbed balance between human, nature, and animal has now become something else entirely. The disharmony that had been in the making for hundreds of years has finally arrived in the form of a faceless army. But this is not a story about war. This is a story about a vibrant, beautiful planet - and the journey to keep it that way. A young girl and her loyal friend embark on a rescue mission through a colourful world full of cold machines and unfamiliar creatures. Planet of Lana is a cinematic puzzle adventure framed by an epic sci-fi saga that stretches across centuries and galaxies...

Traverse dense jungles, sunlit meadows and arid deserts

Planet of Lana is a side scrolling puzzle game that sees you play as a young girl called Lana. When her sister is captured by a strange alien race, Lana's quest is to keep one step ahead of the invaders and find where her sister has been taken to. Along the way she befriends Mui, a cute, indigenous creature, who is instrumental in helping Lana in her quest.

Through dense jungles, sunlit meadows, arid deserts and the cold steel of alien architecture, the bond that connects Lana and Mui is key to survive and progress. Planet of Lana’s companion mechanic means Lana and Mui must work in tandem to solve the game’s compelling puzzles and avoid the hazards that lie between you and saving everything that matters from ruin.

The one element that really got me with this release was the incredibly emotive score. Every now and then it delivers a subtle theme that really adds to the game's atmosphere. It impressed me so much that I just had to buy it (it's available here from Amazon).

It's quite a simple puzzle game, however there was one occasion where I had to look up the answer online. And even then I wasn't overly sure how you were supposed to work it out by yourself.

If emotionally rewarding, fun puzzle games with a lot of heart are your thing, then you'll get a lot out of Planet of Lana. It's quite a short game (you can easily finish it in a lazy afternoon) but it's incredibly rewarding.
