This is a turn based RPG with a twist

Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 is a little different from your standard turn-based RPG. The game injects a little world building into the mix to make you feel like you really are in control of the town as well as your team of students.

As Principal of the academy, your task is to allocate to your students the classes and courses to learn, helping to shape them into the heroes you want them to become. Will you focus on magical courses and become a school of great wizards, one for mighty warriors, or perhaps a bit of everything? Your management style will determine the kind of quests you can take. To complete harder quests, you need to build specific rosters to solve the challenges. It is also your duty to ensure a positive relationship with the four factions of Valthiria throughout the game. Your relationship with them influences the quests available in each faction's territory, and building a solid rapport can unlock unique rewards and quests.

Unwind by taking part in a snowman building competition

In combat you'll select your party for each quest and take your students out for in-field experience as you fight Valthiria’s monsters in turn-based-combat. And, when they're not studying or engaged in combat, your students can unwind by taking part in swimming, fishing, eating and snowman building competition across the seasons.

This is a game that rewards those that like to take their time and experience every nook and cranny. There's plenty to do and the game is compelling enough to keep you coming back for more. My one gripe is that there's no manual save option and it's not always easy to tell when the game is auto saving. This had the result that on a number of times I loaded up the game to find I had to redo things I'd already completed.
