DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing is a pretty standard racing game. The bonus here is that the game features locations and characters from the DreamWorks animated movies. As you progress you unlock parts that allow you to create your own customisable kart that reflects each of the game's characters. While this isn't amongst the best racing games out there, it's a great addition to your library if you have youngsters in the family. Young gamers will get a huge kick out of playing as their favourite character. There's plenty of humour throughout the game which helps to keep you smiling. And, competing with family members (via split-screen local multi-player) is a huge blast. Everyone, from the youngest to eldest member of the family, can play together.
I found, as a party game, this was a huge hit. It was especially enjoyable when it came to opening the tracks' hidden shortcuts and other bonus jumps. Members of my family showed their hidden competitive side in the most amusing way. There are two editions of the game. There's the standard edition or for an extra £10 you can buy the "Digital Deluxe" version. The only difference being that for your additional £10 you receive two exclusive characters, plus two exclusive karts. Personally it's not something I'd pay extra for, but if you love the characters you probably will want to buy this edition. The two characters are Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda and Wolf from Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. If you're a general fan of racing games, then this is the perfect way to ease very young and older inexperienced adults into the genre. It's fun, it's frantic and in all honesty it's a wonderfully engaging party game for all ages. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
