Chase Rice's new LP, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs go to Hell, is released via BBR Music Group. This is a change of pace and a chance for the artist to reflect on what's important to him. Talking about the album, Rice says: "My home has been the road for so long – and I absolutely love it – but I didn’t realize how much I missed having the chance to hang out with old friends, to make new friends and to actually experience living in the moment." The album features multiple solo writes for the first time in his career as well as a wide range of sonic influences that reflect the types of music he enjoys listening to as a fan and the freedom that comes with creating from a place of true excitement... I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs go to Hell has the gravitas of an artist at the peak of his creative talents. The album is a love letter to Chase Rice's fans and a clear product of his passion for country music in its many guises. This is an album that will appease Rice's loyal fans for more personal songs, as well as the perfect introduction to the genre for those that don't necessarily normally gravitate to county music. The album contains 13 (49 min, 28 sec) songs, each vastly different to the last while managing to capture Rice's unique style. We open with 'Walk that Easy', which has clear traditional country vibes, whilst incorporating a modern pop feeling. It's this constant crossing of genres that make I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs go to Hell an LP that is instantly accessible. 'All Dogs go to Hell' is a laid back, melancholic heartbreaker, whilst 'Way down Yonder' is a little more rock n' roll. It's not until 'Life Part of Livin'' that we're treated to a full on country song, but it's so modern and fresh that you'll probably not even notice that you're now a lover of country music. I played this day and night for quite a while and I know it's going to be one I return to on a regular basis. A rich and lovingly crafted work of art. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
