Fabrizio Mancinelli's soundtrack for Il Viaggio Leggendario (The Legendary Journey) is released through Plaza Mayor Company Ltd. When two friends receive a mysterious package little do they suspect that the video game contained inside is in fact a portal to another dimension. When they start to play the game they get sucked inside and become part of The Legendary Journey game. Here they clash with the evil Dr. Timoti and many other characters from the game's world. Some are there to help, while others attempt to thwart them in their quest. Can the pair win the last level and save Legendary...? Fabrizio Mancinelli's score for Il Viaggio Leggendario (The Legendary Journey) taps into a rich vein of inspiration of some of Hollywood's finest composers. There's elements of James Horner's work on Honey I Shrunk the Kids in the opening 'In Cucina' as well as Danny Elfman's gothic output in 'Guardiamo un Horror'. In addition, 'Prigioniero di Timoty' wouldn't have felt out of place in Klaus Badelt's score for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. There are many more nods and winks to other composers works, and for me that was a huge part of why I totally fell in love with what Mancinelli delivered. The album contains 24 tracks (1 hr, 12 min, 45 sec) and the sheer volume of engaging and memorable themes makes this a soundtrack that really should be a part of any soundtrack collector's music library. From the opening track to the closing notes, this is a score that is rich in content and multi-layered. Mancinelli delivers a gem of a soundtrack. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
