Plaza Mayor Company Ltd release the original score for Benedetti, Sesenta Años Con Luz, by composer Hernán González Villamil. Mario Benedetti and Luz López met when they were teenagers, he became a writer and she became a public employee. Together they shared life, exile, failures, success, friends and Love. 60 years and 80 books later Luz suffers from Alzheimer's, forgets all her past and finally Mario, just before she dies. This movie reconstructs this memory with an eye on the author and the love that united them... Hernán González Villamil's score for Benedetti, Sesenta Años Con Luz is more an EP than it is a full-blown soundtrack album. It consists of 10 tracks (16 min, 45 sec). But what it lacks in length, it more than makes up for with its emotional warmth. For such a short score it packs quite an emotional punch. I could easily have listened to another 30 minutes of music in the same vein. On a side note, 'Memories of Buenos Aires' reminded me, instantly, of Trevor Jones's 'Opening Titles' to Labyrinth, which made me smile. It's a short, very sweet score with plenty of heart. It's certainly a soundtrack I'd recommend. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
