Ghost Love release their new album Mourners Disco. The resulting 10 tracks (38 min, 41 sec) represent an upbeat collection with a foot firmly planted in the late '80s / early '90s. The lead vocals reminded me, more often than not, of A-Ha's frontman Morten Harket. And, if I'm honest, this was one of the elements that appealed most to me - having followed A-Ha's output in recent years. What's impressive about Mourners Disco is how versatile Ghost Love's sound is. They shift and change from '80s to more modern production values whilst not being afraid to experiment with sound. 'Eyes Asking Why' introduces strings as well as a vocals delivered in a staccato fashion. If you're looking for the perfect '80s A-Ha vibe, then 'Le Mépris' is where you should start. Everything, from the synths to the vocals and even the drum machine will have you whisked back in time. I enjoyed my time with Mourners Disco and look forward to Ghost Love's future output. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
