Nik West releases her new album, Moody. Since her arrival onto the music scene, Nik West made it clear that she is the future of funk. And just when it seems the rockstar era has ended, in walks Nik West once again, an out of the box, colourful, new age kind of artist who has worked with a long list of greats, such as Prince, Quincy Jones, and has opened for George Clinton and P-Funk multiple times...

Nik West, the vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist presents her much anticipated second album, Moody, a wide-angle interpretation of her authentic personality.

There's a definite Price vibe running through Moody. Tracks like 'Thumpahlenah' feel like they've come straight out of Prince's 1989 Batman album. It has similar bass licks, tempo and vocals. In fact it's probably not going too far to say this is a homage to 'Partyman'. But as the 12 (39 min, 46 sec) tracks roll ever forward. 'Tears' has elements of Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror'.

It's modern funk with a twist. I loved this release and I know I'll be getting plenty of playtime out of it.
