Anthony Chue's original score for Flashover is released via Plaza Mayor Company. Set on the Chinese mainland, the film follows a company of rookie firefighters who risk their lives to battle a huge blaze that has consumed a chemical industrial estate... As you'd expect, given the premise of the movie, the soundtrack to Flashover contains plenty of action and suspense themes. There are 56 tracks here (1 hr, 26 min, 19 sec) with numerous themes which come and go, weaving their way through the album. It's obvious that the music greatly enhances the onscreen action and suspense, but it also works well as a standalone collection of interesting themes. So, it's not essential that you're a fan of the movie to enjoy what composer Anthony Chue delivers here. There are also mellow, reflective themes, like 'Assessing the Damage' which allow Chue to explore a more melancholic side to his compositions. And I think it was this crossing of styles which impressed me the most. This is a strong soundtrack which will appease those who enjoy suspense scores. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
