Under a post box “somewhere in Mayfair” our furry secret agent duly receives his instructions from the spluttering Colonel K. Then itʼs into the Mousemobile with trusty sidekick Penfold in tow - and so begins another adventure for our righteous rodent. Heʼs the greatest, heʼs fantastic, wherever there is danger heʼll be there...

Danger Mouse was originally broadcast, in the UK, between 1981 and 1992. This new DVD release collects together, across 10 DVDs, every episode ever made of the original 10 series. Whilst it contains 161 episodes from the original run of the show, it doesn't feature any of the revival's 99 episodes.

The show, which features the voices of David Jason, as the eponymous hero, and Terry Scott as Penfold, was based on the 1960s television series Danger Man starring Patrick McGoohan. Each episode sees Danger Mouse and Penfold trying to thwart Baron Silas Greenback's latest attempt to wreck havoc on the world.

Extras include Interviews with Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall; Pilot Episode (The Mystery of the Lost Chord); Danger Mouse and Friends (Cosgrove Hall Documentary); Exclusive Behind the-Scenes Footage; Danger Mouse Games; Original Theme Tune Ideas; Animated Shorts; and Photo Galleries.

Whilst the extras are nowhere near as extensive as in the 2011 DVD collection, and the price is £35 more than that release, this is still a wonderful trip back in time. It's interesting to revisit this show - I haven't seen it since it was originally broadcast - and I'm happy to report that it stands up incredibly well.

It would have scored a full 10/10. However, the huge bump in RRP and the drop in quantity of the extras mean that this is a noticeable dip in quality over the previous box set.
