In the 4K remastered edition of Mad Experiments: Escape Room you can attempt to successfully navigate three different escape rooms, alone or with up to 5 players. Solve mind-bending puzzles, and unravel the dark secrets of Professor Cheshire and his experiments...
Mad Experiments: Escape Room is an engaging puzzle room game that sees you unraveling the story as you get closer to the exit. You can race against the clock (literally, as the clock in the room displays how long you have left), or play in Relax mode (where there's no time limit). You can play solo, or with a team of up to 6 players as you work together to solve the puzzles. Should you get stuck there are hints that will help to get passed those hard to fathom puzzles. There are three parts to the game: Chapter 1: The Mansion Lab - You have been "invited" by Professor Cheshire and his assistant Hildegarde to try their new experiments. They are obsessed with people’s minds and want to see how you react to their tests. Chapter 2: Memory Loss - Cheshire's experimentations damaged your brain and you are now in a coma. Hildegarde wants to help you to wake up by recovering your memory... Chapter 3: Lost Childhood - You will keep diving into the past of Hildegarde. In her child room, you will witness what her daily life looked like when she got into Cheshire's lab.
Whilst I found the puzzles to be set at just the right level, I have to admit that I did have to sneak a peek at the hints sheet on more than a couple of occasions. If I had one minor complaint it's that handling objects is not always intuitive. When a lot of the objects need to be turned around so that you can find a hidden clue, making it difficult to rotate them, and then stay still whilst you zoom in on them, should be seamless. However it felt a little clunky on occasion and broke a little of the immersion. A fun, challenging game that will delight any escape room fans. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
