1300 classic games are available at launch

Antstream Arcade gives gamers, at the time of launch, access to over 1300 classic games from yesteryear. From classic games from the arcades to early PC games from Sinclair Spectrum classics to SNES games. There's even crossover, with some games having numerous formats for you to revisit.

For someone who grew up enjoying '80s arcade games and Spectrum games, Antstream Arcade was like a gift from Heaven. It's impressive how many games from my childhood are included, but there are also quite a lot of notable exclusions. Hopefully, as more games are added to the catalogue missing classics like Outrun, Space Harrier and the Ultimate series of Spectrum games will see the light of day.

The first issue I had was which game to play... With so many choices I have to admit to being a little overwhelmed. You can either search by keyword or by browsing the online menus. The only problem here was that there's no text next to each selection. You'll have to hope you recognise the game from the tiny image or that it has the title printed on the thumbnail.

Reconnect with some classic favourites

There were plenty of games I found purely by accident - like the classic PS1 game Hogs of War, voiced by Rick Mayall and I know that I've barely scratched the surface of revisiting my childhood.

A yearly subscription will set you back £33 for the year (that's 90p a day) or you could splash out and pay £80 for the lifetime subscription. Either way this is good value for money. If you're looking to replay classic original games from your past then Antstream is a no brainer. If they fix the menus, so you can easily see a list of all games (alphabetically and by console) then this is an essential purchase.
