Dog Man: Mission Impawsible brings the beloved book series to life

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible brings the beloved book series to life. Dive into this action-packed, humour-filled adventure. Let's make no bones about it, however. This game has been thrown together to cash in on the upcoming Dog Man movie, due for release in January 2025.

With that in mind, the game developers had two routes they could have explored. Deliver a cheap and cheerful game, with basic graphics and gameplay, but at a budget price. Or, a large budget offering with 3D graphics with a deep gameplay. For some reason, the powers that be decided to deliver a bare bones, budget offering, yet slap on the price of a AAA game. What were they thinking?

The game features 50 levels that sees you explore iconic locations from the Dog Man universe, including the City Hall, Giant Marshmallow Factory, and the Police Station. Each location offers platforming and puzzle-solving challenges as you switch between Dog Man and his Supa Buddies, each with their own special abilities. As you progress you'll unlock new gadgets and abilities to navigate through the levels.

There are secrets and unlockables... but nothing that's truly worth putting in all that much effort.

As a fun, basic 2D-platformer for very young fans of the movie, this is enjoyable. But not at £35 (even more expensive if you pick up the physical edition). I'd wait until it goes on sale at under £20. Thankfully there's a free demo of the game so you can download and try before you buy.
