Milad Movahedi's original score for Critical Zone is released via Plaza Mayor Company. The film follows Amir, who leads a lonely life. With his dog for sole company, he drives through the underworld of Tehran, dealing drugs and healing troubled souls like a modern prophet. He navigates the city streets aimlessly, following the directions of his GPS while getting high to escape a town with no future. And yet, in his wandering he will find the seed of resistance... As short (5 tracks - 13 min, 44 sec) as Milad Movahedi's soundtrack for Critical Zone is, I couldn't help falling in love with it. It has a central, sweet theme which is revisited and expanded upon as the music moves ever forward. Whilst I enjoyed this score from the first play through, it took me quite some time to appreciate the subtle elements. It's a soundtrack that grows on you the more you listen to it. I was especially impressed with how Movahedi is able to deliver a collection of themes that work well as a stand alone project in its own right. It's just a shame that there isn't more music, as I could so easily have listened to much more in a similar vein. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
