Rain Worthington released her debut album Dream Vapors: Selected Works for Orchestra back in 2016. This new album appears to take just three of those tracks and present them live with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. And I'm not overly sure why.

Don't get me wrong. I love the original album. But I can't fathom why it's been reissued with only three of the original seven movements. While it's interesting to hear a different orchestra performing these pieces, and witness a new mix... I can't fathom why the other pieces were not also included. I'm assuming these three pieces make up the Dream Vapors suite, with the "missing" pieces being other works for orchestra.

Worthington is a musical genius in my eyes. I've been lucky enough to listen to so many of her creations over the years, but unless you can't get a hold of a copy of her original release, I really don't see the merit in adding this to your collection.

Having said that, I still love what's on display here. But I strongly advise you to check out her original release (You can read my review on that here). This new recording doesn't include 'Fast Through Dark Winds', which was one of the original recording's highlights for me.
