Simone Cilio's score for Lockdown is released via Plaza Mayor Company Ltd. Chaos reigns in Los Angeles when three criminals take over a police station and threaten to kill everyone in it unless a large ransom is paid. FBI special agent Roger Kinkaid uses his extensive knowledge in a bid to outwit the criminals and save the hostages, but one question remains: even if they get their money, how can they possibly escape...?

Simone Cilio's (Gunner, The Forest Through the Trees, Active Shooter) score for Lockdown is pretty much a perfect example of how to deliver an explosive, action adventure score that drags the listener into the movie's heightened tension.

There's suspense, action and calming, reflective segments peppered throughout the course of these 13 tracks (47 min, 46 sec). The mix of electronics and orchestra works incredibly well to bring atmosphere through the use of traditional and more modern musical approaches.

Talking about the project, Cilio says: "Considering that it's a thriller with a lot of tension, time plays an important role musically so I had the idea of playing with clicks and percussions that go a bit crazy with tempo changes. Throughout the movie there are different moods and situations that I tried to follow with the full orchestra mixed with electric guitars and synths. The main goal was to emphasize the tension."

It's a score that you can play in the background, or give your full attention to. And I found that I was constantly discovering new segments that I'd overlooked on previous play throughs.

A wonderfully engaging and richly rewarding collection of themes and atmospheric set pieces.
