Maximilien Mathevon releases another concept album of music inspired by the world around us. This time, with Corsaire, he captures the essence of Saint-Malo, a historic French port in Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany... Once again, as with the majority of Maximilien Mathevon's exemplary output, this new entry into his extensive library is packed to the rafters with incredibly emotive themes. And, more impressively, these 10 tracks (48 min, 55 sec) are diverse enough to ensure it's almost impossible to not be drawn back time and time again. Discussing the album, Mathevon says: "There are places that touch you with their atmosphere, their architecture, the history they evoke. For me, one of these places is the city of Saint-Malo. It was quite natural that I came to create an album inspired by the corsair city, mixing electronic music and traditional influences. This album is Corsaire". If you've visited Saint-Malo, then you'll instantly be transported back there. This truly captures not only the beauty, but also the historical importance of the area. And if you haven't been there then you this music will at the very least have you searching online for images and videos in order to get a feel for the area. Mathevon, once again, delivers above and beyond expectations. Another masterfully crafted mini work of art. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
