Sony Music release the soundtrack for the holiday action-comedy Red One, with music by Henry Jackman. After Santa Claus – Code Name: Red One – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas... Henry Jackman has delivered a number of memorable scores in the past including X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It Ralph, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War, as well as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level. His ability to heighten the action/adventure element of the movies he scores is more than impressive. HIstorically his work is an integral character in the films, and that is also the case here with Red One. Talking about the score, Jackman says: "Red One is not your normal Christmas movie. It’s a really clever film that gave me a huge opportunity to mix fantastical styles of music alongside espionage, procedural, and magical realism. Dwayne Johnson continues to surprise me with the sincerity of his acting which allows me to write music with that emotional anchor. The film’s score explores genres of jazz funk, orchestral, action, and terrifying blockbuster. It was a joy to compose this movie and work with [director] Jake Kasdan." The 22 tracks (51 min, 20 sec) romp along at a breakneck pace. This is one of those timeless scores that tells its own story as a standalone album in its own right. Jackman also cover so many genre bases, as well as delivering numerous memorable themes. Piece like the subtle, 'One Last Ride' stands shoulder to shoulder with epic, brash themes like 'Mythic Mayhem'. This is one of Jackman's most memorable projects to date. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
